Welcome to
Cokesbury United Methodist Church! At CUMC, we are a family of Christ who
believes in sharing the love of Jesus Christ with all people! We believe in
Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and we would love the opportunity to teach
and share our belief with you! Please join us on Sundays:
9:45 a.m. Sunday school (annex and main building)
10:50 a.m. community of Christ worship (sanctuary)
I would love the opportunity to help YOU become better acquainted with our Lord Jesus Christ and the fellowship of believers at CUMC! Email cokesburypastor@bellsouth.net. Phone (706) 796-2954.
At CUMC, unity and love through the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control) are the keys to our personal relationship with one another and our Triune God. The Holy Spirit is our guide, and Jesus Christ is our redeemer. Joy is made complete in service as we use our hands and feet to do the work of Jesus for our church, our community and the world. The grace of God is always at work through the ministries we serve.
Our United Methodist Women and United Methodist Men are a vital part of our ministry of mission to the world and to our community.
Our Outreach Ministry focuses heavily on serving in the surrounding area's ministry to the poor through Augusta Urban Ministries, the New Bethlehem Center and the soup kitchen.
Children are a very important part of our church ministry! We have many caring and loving adults who care for our children through ministries of Sunday school, children's church, Minnows and our preschool.
Youth are also a very important part of our church ministry! Those "yout" people are the best in teaching our youth about the love of Jesus Christ, the fellowship of believers and the power of the Holy Spirit. They accomplish their goals through Sunday school, UM Youth Fellowship on Sunday nights, and with special events throughout the year.
The seniors -- or "Young at Heart" -- are a special part of our church as well! This ministry is a new and growing ministry at CUMC. We meet once per month for lunch and a special program and fellowship. We will also be planning some special outings soon!
Christ-like love is the key to our goal of becoming a church that loves and cares about all people. The Holy Word of God -- our Bible -- is primary in our learning about God and how we should be living our lives. The unity of the body of Christ and full maturity in Christian witness and service comes through our experiences, our tradition and our reasoning. Our members love each other to the point of cheerful giving and grateful service toward one another and beyond the doors of our church.
Perhaps you are looking for a people to belong to, a people who will help you learn more about the Lord, and a people you can share the commitment to Jesus Christ with. We would love for Cokesbury United Methodist Church to be that place!
